It was only one year ago the BCALLA LQQKS PROJECT launched as an answer to lacking the funds to start my own line. Every month I drank in the world around me finding inspiration in all New York has to offer- from my amazing studio mate and stylish and talented friends to the derelict fashionistas on the subway and of course the ever colorful and bustling neighborhood I live in. What started as a vague intention to make a bit of cash turned into a publicly personal reflection of my life from month to month.
The BCALLA LQQKS PROJECT produced amazing opportunities and even more amazing friendships. I cannot express how grateful I am and how much I appreciate all the parties involved in BCALLA LQQKS PROJECT- it has been an absolute dream.
Johnny Sagan of Snowy Wilderness Gallery began supporting the BCALLA LQQKS PROJECT in August and before I knew it gave me the opportunity I was so desperate for when this project was launched. I am ecstatic to announce the first BCALLA collection- showcasing ten brand new LQQKS and amazing collaborations with Jeffery Campbell and Chris Habana. The collection will be presented at the Living Theater in the LES (21 Clinton st) as well as streamed live online (http://www.ustream.tv/channel/bcalla)along side the premier collection from my endlessly talented studio mate Genevieve Clifford.
